Bible Verse For Today 7th May 2025 Wednesday Reading Colossians 1:18
“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”
Message: “Christ, Our Preeminent Head”
This verse declares the absolute supremacy of Jesus Christ in all things. He is not merely an important figure in the Church—He is the Head. As the head controls and gives direction to the body, so Christ governs His Church.
He is “the beginning,” meaning He is both the origin and sustainer of creation and new life. He is also “the firstborn from the dead,” signaling His victory over death and His role as the first to rise never to die again.
Why? That “in all things he might have the preeminence.” Christ is not one among many—He is above all. He is to be first in your life, in the Church, in your decisions, your priorities, and your worship.
Let this be a reminder: Jesus is not to be an addition to your life—He is to be your life.

Prayer: Acknowledging Christ’s Preeminence
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who is the head of the Church and the firstborn from the dead. I acknowledge His Lordship, His authority, and His preeminence in all things.
Lord Jesus, reign over my life. Be first in my thoughts, my words, and my actions. Align my heart with Your will, and help me to live in submission to Your leadership. Where I have placed other things before You, forgive me and realign my focus.
May Your Church walk in unity under Your direction, empowered by Your Spirit, and devoted to Your glory. Be exalted in all things, now and forevermore. In Your matchless name, I pray. Amen.
